Message from the Secretary General

Although the members of the religion of Tawhid share many common grounds centered around one God, one Prophet, and one Book, they have been scattered like the beads of a broken rosary since the last century!

The blessed Ummah is in need of a new spirit and good tidings of resurrection.

Our Lord said to us: "Do not weaken and do not grieve, and you will be superior if you are [true] believers."

Instead of complaining about the negative conditions around us, we are obliged to re-establish our own dynamics and revive all our values.

We have many problems ahead, but we know that none of them are insolvable. We are the ones who will pave the way out, not anyone else.

Three single units (alifs) have a value of three when separated. But when the same three units stand side by side, shoulder to shoulder, they acquire the power and value of one hundred and eleven.

The dedicated members of this Ummah must come together for the same purpose, in the direction of the same target, and reunite the two ends of the rosary.

Because Islamic unity (ittihad-i Islam), as always, is an obligatory duty, especially in this era.

The heirs of a magnificent civilization extending from Jakarta to Istanbul; from Astana to Baghdad and Damascus; from Mecca and Medina to Cairo, Tripoli, and Casablanca, are, thank Allah, protecting the trust entrusted to them with this spirit despite all adversities.

Instead of artificial borders, they come together with the awareness of the magnificent span of their own cultural geography that embraces the whole world.

Despite all malicious centers, we pray that Allah Almighty grants us success in this unity and solidarity.

The Union of NGOs of the Islamic World (UNIW / İDSB) is a movement of dedication shaped in this direction. It is a mobilization of Tawhid.

This geography is both in need and obliged to know each other, to develop sustainable projects together, to protect its own garden, and to determine its own future.

In today's conjuncture, international power centers want to design a geography that is divided into smaller pieces, weak and as open as possible to external influences, to share all wealth with the maps they have created, and to rule over energy and raw material resources and corridors as they wish.

The five permanent members of the UN Security Council have created a new world order with an approach based entirely on their personal interests.

Unfortunately, our world has been the biggest victim and target of this structure. Think of Hilf al-Fudul! Where is that structure that stood upright by the oppressed, of which the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said even after his prophethood "I would still support it today", and where is the UN that facilitates international injustice?

Our people, who remain poor despite having such rich resources, can only recover by joining their forces and with a serious and qualified education campaign.

Dispute does not befit the members of the religion of Tawhid. The heirs of this grand civilization, whom our Prophet (pbuh) defined as "a single nation, a single community", must ensure this unity and togetherness.

UNIW is a unity project established with this goal. We are like the stones of a building. Our goal is to ensure sustainable development, unity, and coordination among non-governmental organizations of the Islamic world; to contribute to the realization of an environment of justice, peace, and stability all over the world; to protect the fundamental rights and freedoms of individuals and societies; and to carry out activities to introduce Islamic culture and values.

We will achieve these goals together, hand in hand, insha'Allah.

May Allah be our helper on this blessed path.
